Title: The relationship of back pain in show jumping and dressage riders depending on the degree of stability Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the relationship between back pain in show jumping and dressage riders depending on the degree of stability. With the help of computer posturography Neurocom Smart Equitest System. Methods: In my thesis, I used the NeuroCom Smart EquiTest computerized posturograph to record and measure dynamic postural stability. This machine is mainly used to examine functional disorders in the sensory, vestibular and neuromuscular apparatus. The research sample consisted of 20. 10 jumping and 10 dressage riders. They were selected on the basis of a questionnaire sent to riders ranked 100th in the Czech rankings in their discipline in 2022. If they met the criteria, they were included in the project. Probands were aged 18-35 years, practicing horse riding every day for at least the last 10 years. The practical measurement took place in November 2023 in the Kinesiology Laboratory of the Department of Physiotherapy at FTVS UK. Each proband underwent seven consecutive tests. And only in the following order - Test of organization Sensors, Test of motor control, Test of adaptation, One-sided stance, Limits of stability, Rhythmic shift of weight, Test of squat...
Porovnání úrovně a vyváženosti vypsaných národních a mezinárodních drezurních úloh za použití měřícího zařízení Equimo tracker
Zourková, Barbora
This diploma thesis is entitled Comparison of the level and balance of the listed national and international dressage tests using the Equimo tracking device. Its goal was to get information about dressage tests. Their duration, distance, symmetry in each gait, and calories burned were observed. Twelve dressage tests were chosen from five levels of difficulty Z to T. Each test was registered three times. All testing was performed by one rider on one horse using the Equimo device. In general, it could be evaluated that, from the point of view of duration, distance, and calories burned, the degrees of difficulty Z and L were very similar, followed by S, ST, and T. The most extreme differences were found in the symmetry of the sides for the DU-A test and the duration of the Z4 test.
Stability in Showjumping and Dressage Riders
Vaňková, Kateřina ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Rampová, Michaela (referee)
Horse-riding has a major influence on the posture of the whole body of the rider. Rider has to constantly compensate the movement of horse's body and has to maintain a proper seat. The compensation is very demanding in harder tasks (showjumping, trotting) and is provided mainly by the trunk area of rider's body. In addition, if the saddle doesn't fit the rider, it leads to improper seat and the compensation becomes even harder. In long term, that could affect different segments of the rider's body and his overall stability. The practical part of this thesis consists of one-time examination of two groups. The first group contained nine showjumping and dressage riders who engage in horse-riding regularly over many years and do not do any other sport or compensatory exercises. The second group was control group and consisted ten healthy controls. Both groups contained 19-24 years old volunteers of the same gender. The main goal was to compare the two groups and to find out whereas the inclusion of the compensatory excercises would be desirable for riders. The examination was executed using a force plate with the software Kistler MARS (Measurement, Analysis & Reporting Software). On the force plate, postural stability of standing and a dynamic test were examined. Intrumental examination was...

Soušková, Katarína
Our diploma theses are focused on horses participating in dressage competitions. In the literary review, we characterize this discipline, we describe its historical evolution, rules and we present some breeds mostly used in dressage competitions into the Czech Republic and abroad. Within the diploma theses, we are dealing with a statistical evaluation of the influence of age, color of coat, sex, breed and year of start on the dressage performance and on a number of participations in dressage competitions. Data from the Review of Sports Horses from 2010 and 2016 (published by the Czech Equestrian Federation) have been processed. Moreover, we have processed data from ranking of the best dressage horses for 2010 and 2016 which are also published by the Czech Equestrian Federation. The dressage performance has been evaluated on the basis of reached auxiliary points (AAP). We have evaluated statistically the influence of the same factors on the dressage performance at 200 best dressage horses around the world. These data are released by the Federation Equestre Internationale. Their performance has been rated on the basis of achieved points. We have processed and evaluated data using programme STATISTICA 2012. A sex factor from 2010 and a factor of a breed and of a year of the start in the both monitoring years have a statistically highly evaluated influence on the number of participations in dressage competitions. We have statistically evaluated the influence of the age, sex and breed factor on the dressage performance. It was alike at the most successful horses in the Czech Republic. Regarding the world rankings, only a factor of the start year has a statistically highly evaluated influence on the dressage performance. As for horses starting in the Czech Republic during the both monitoring years, the best results have been achieved by horses within the age of 13 to 16 years (3,33 PPB).A breed KWPN (4,84 PPB) and a group of stallions (3,44 PPB) have the statistically highly evaluated best dressage performance. The dressage performance in the Czech Republic is stable and it did not change remarkably from 2010 to 2016.

This bachelor thesis deals with the usage of the Czech Warmblood horse breed in competitive disciplines of show jumping, dressage and eventing. The thesis comprises of breeding of the Czech Warmblood, its recent and past usage and also contains descriptions of its characteristics, observed properties and breeding goals. Furthermore, the history, rules and judging of particular competitions are also being dealt with. The last chapter discuss the utilization of the Czech Warmblood breed in particular competitions, moreover, significant contests and successful riders and horses representing the Czech Republic abroad are further mentioned as well. Statistics show that the numbers of horses are constantly increasing. In the Czech Republic during the year 1955 there were 2 134 horses competing. Comparing to year 2015, the numbers increased to 5 059 racing horses. The popularity of the Czech Warmblood also grows rapidly as it represented 40.3 % of all breeds that competed in 2015. That is almost a half. In comparison, the Slovakian Warmblood represented 9.1 % and the English Warmblood was represented by 4.8 %. The Czech Warmblood outnumbered the other breeds also in 2008 and 2014. The representation was 40 % in 2008 and 42.5 % in 2014. Czech Warmblood is mostly used in disciplines of show jumping and eventing. In 2008 in the category show jumping, the Czech Warmblood was represented by 56 % of a hundred of horses and the number in the category eventing is 42 % of a hundred of horses. Nevertheless, foreign breeds are growing in popularity as well. Best examples of these horse breeds are the Oldenburg horse, the Hanoverian horse, the Belgian Warmblood, the Irish Hunter or the Holsteiner horse.

Selma Brandl: Die Moderne Reitschule, Der richtige Weg zur Harmonie im Sattel (chap. Dressur) - commented translation
Bártová, Hana ; Svoboda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kloudová, Věra (referee)
The object of my bachelor thesis - which is a translation of a text about horse riding and its commentary - is to make a translation that could be published without many improvements in the magazine Jezdectví or on the website Equichannel. While translating, I followed the translation process of Jirí Levý which he describes in his book Umení prekladu. First, I analysed the original text according to Christiane Nord, then I looked for text parts difficult to translate. I analysed them in their broader context and I chose suitable Czech equivalents for them. During terminology translation, I followed the rules of Czech Equestrian Federation and other literature. Because there is not enough Czech written or into Czech translated literature about horse riding - especially about dressage - I would like to extend the literary basis of this sport. Dressage and horse riding in general are not as popular as e.g. in Germany that is why I try to address the recipient more strongly to get him interested in the text. The first part of my work is dedicated to the translation, in which I do not leave out translation of the picture legend; the second part deals with the analysis of the original text and in the last part I discuss translation problems that I had to solve and I confront the original text with the translation...
